HONOLULU, Hawaii — Last week, TaylorMade Golf announced the expansion of its global Tour Staff in advance of the 2013 Tour season including former Major Champion Stewart Cink, as well as 2012 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year John Huh, Ryan Moore, J.J. Henry, Brian Davis and Chad Campbell.
Following postponements caused by severe weather at Kapalua, Monday was a significant day for our new TaylorMade Tour Staffers debuting new equipment, headwear and staff bags in preparation for the 2013 PGA Tour season.
From Huh’s new R1 driver in Maui to Cink’s new headwear at the Sony Open, the second week of the season certainly has a unique air of change hovering over the Hawaiian islands.
In addition to Huh, Henry and Moore who began the season with a grueling 36-hole opening day in Kapalua – scores can be found here – Cink and Davis were among the first players out at Waialae for a Monday morning practice session and Pro-Am. Cink, a hugely influential PGA Tour player as it relates to social media, gave his 1.1. million followers a first look at his new R1 Staff bag on New Year’s Eve, while Davis’ new bag sat comfortably next to the putting green at Waialae on Monday afternoon.
We’re excited to welcome both Cink and Davis to the TaylorMade team and wish them the best of luck in their first tournament of the 2013 PGA Tour season this week at the Sony Open. Stay tuned to Tour Diaries for more player news, product updates and all the latest from Hawaii in the days ahead.
